Our Story
As the window to avert the climate crisis is rapidly closing, there is an urgent need for collective action from all stakeholders: governments, civil society, politicians, the private sector, and ordinary citizens. Simply put, everyone should be involved in the fight against climate change.
Nature Guardian is a platform for compassionate and eco-conscious East African journalists whose main goal is to drive engaging conversations about the climate crisis and initiate possible solutions.
Our Mission
Nature Guardian uses the power of storytelling to light the way towards a more sustainable planet and inspire society to take action.
Our Vision
We aim to be the go-to media platform in eastern Africa for those seeking to understand the drivers of climate change, how bad it is, and how to fix it.

Our Projects
Nature Guardian regularly organises climate change workshops and trainings in the Albertine region — the western branch of the East African Rift that covers parts western Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania — with the aim of creating awareness about the effects of climate change among communities that have little or no access to this kind of information.
Our most recent project was the Climate-Smart Agriculture Cross-border Works, which took place on July 19 and July 23 in Musanze, northern Rwanda, and Kisoro, southwestern Uganda, respectively. The project was organised by Nature Guardian and Red Rocks Initiative for Sustainable Development and was supported by Danida Fellowship Centre and the Ministry of Affairs of Denmark.
Our Partners and Supporters
Nature Guardian’s main source of income is through our partnerships model. Our partners are offered direct advertising and promotion through sponsored content on the site and our social media channels.
We are actively seeking new partnerships and you can find out more by emailing our partnership department at justus@natureguardian.org.
